What the hell am I doing?

So I noticed that a lot of people have blogs, and well, I decided to be a follower and start one too. I don't even know how to transition from being blogless to putting stuff out here. In social work when tackling problems, we always start with where the client is currently, and with that, I am currently sitting at my father-in-law's house alone in Sierra Vista, AZ. Mmm hmm. How's that for a beginning?

I'm on a five week adventure of sorts that involves me visiting my husband, Joe, (that's right - visiting my husband), my fabulous friend, Susan, and my mother. From Missouri, I drove 19.5 hours to get down here to Arizona where Joe is wrapping up military training. We were able to play house in a hotel suite for a little over a week, though I have since begun staying with Joe's dad who recently relocated to the area. Small world, right? For reaons not worth explaining, Joe cannot leave base for the time being and his dad and stepmom are out of town. That leaves me here with Carl the cat. It's pretty swell.

The past year has been nothing short of insane. There have been many life-altering changes - I graduated with a masters (in social work) and no plan; Joe joined the Army; I moved from Columbia, Mo to Madison, Ms to Rolla, Mo; Oma died; I got married; I got a career job; I quit a career job; and more. All my life I have heard that this sort of stuff is character building, and so my goal here is to share my character with you all and realize some of it for myself. Everyone's experiences are relative, so don't judge and enjoy. Cheers.
