Waffles and Lamps

We have a deal in the mornings while Joe is home on leave: He gets up with the dogs around 7-7:30AM, and I stay in bed until around 9AM, so he can play video games after he tends to the dogs. The other day I got up before 9AM, and Joe's whole video game world turned upside down for a few minutes while his man brain attempted to wrap itself around the fact that Wife was up. Yeah, that didn't go well.

But this morning when I got up, Joe was in the kitchen making waffles! Woohoo. It's really not for me; he just loves making waffles. So much in fact, that he was completely unaware that a lamp in the living room had been shot off its resting place (likely by a dog) and the compact fluorescent bulb had broken. Ah, mercury. It got cleaned up, though, and Joe is back with his waffles.

Our "staycation" is going well. We were supposed to get out of town for a few days to Savannah, but just found out the extent of Dexter's latest limp may require orthopedic surgery. GAAAAAAH. 1) We can't really board him while he needs meds and has to be on super light duty. 2) If we have to pay for orthopedic surgery, I guess we should start hoarding our money. Good thing I quit my job... Bah. But he's our "child," and we love him. The injury is to his shoulder, and there was no big event that caused it, nor does he act hurt or is in any way slowed down on his own accord. He just starts limping badly after a while, which is while his physical activity is now severely limited. Basically, part of his shoulder bone may be chipped and need worked on. (I kind of stopped listening after the mention of surgery.)

So anyway. Joe and I are just chillin'. Dex is forced to chill as well, and Lu doesn't know what the hell is going on. She's sad Dex can't play, and seems to disappear into some Pine Tree Narnia in the backyard because she all the sudden reappears, and her head is covered in pine sap. She smells good, though.

I think we're still going to take some day trips - go to Atlanta, and then over towards Macon to hit up a peach orchard on another day. In the meantime, Joe and I have officially started p90x. Tony Horton acts like a little bitch, but his workouts will kick your ass. They're good. Today is Day 4 - Yoga. Plyometrics was on Tuesday, and with all the jumping around and other crazy-ass-shit, my stomach was literally upset for a full 24 hours. Better now. We're also eating better, which may have caused some of the discomfort as well. I'm so sore, but I know it'll be worth it. It better be worth it.

I crash video game time cuz that's how I roll. We are so cool that Ryan plays and I get on the computer or read.
I hope Dex is alright. It's hard when your fur children are hurt. I guess that is just preparing you for the real shebang.
Way to go on the P90X! You guys rock! That's awesome that you're rocking it out together too.
