No Sugar Tonight

No sugar tonight in my coffee.
No sugar tonight in my tea.
No sugar to stand beside me.
No sugar to run with me.

But did the Guess Who know about this pillow?

Hmm.

So Joe didn't call tonight, and I hate that. To further explain, let me use a road trip analogy. You know how when you set out on a long road trip, and start just expecting it to take forever. Like, okay, I've got my music, and we're no where close to being to the destination, so I'm not even going to begin counting down the miles. Then, when you get close - inside that last hundred or fifty miles, and you're like, C'MON, LET'S BE THERE ALREADY!! The fact that you're almost there is really of no consolation (unless you have to pee) because since you're so close, you're hopped up on adrenaline with all the anticipation of what it will be like when you are actually there.

Yeah, well, that's where I am in waiting to be with Joe, minus the possible urination issue. I know I'll see him next week, but that doesn't do any good THIS WEEK or with the fact that he didn't call tonight. Every phone call counts, especially since we're not able to talk as frequently. He has a bedtime for Christ's sake. Blarg. I was really jazzed to talk to him tonight, but that shit ain't happening. I don't even know why he didn't call. I just know that that's the way it is, and there's nothing I can do about it.

In a related note, the beautification process for seeing husband again has begun. You know - shaving the legs before you could pass as a man. Tweezing more regularly. Remembering how to actually style your hair again. Blah blah blah. I'm also preparing to wear another graudation dress, which means getting some color on this skin. I'd bought some Neutrogena "Build a Tan" for $4.99 at the Surplus grocery store, and later found it got good ratings in a health and beauty magazine. So far the stuff is good - I'm beginning to get a bit of a glow but not turn orange. I'm not streaking either, but the key to that is exfoliating and putting the lotion on right after a bath/shower when you're still kind of damp. Moist skin helps even out the lotion. Yes, yes.
