This is my 100th post?!

I haven't written in like three weeks. Gah.

This picture is from my sister's wedding this past weekend. (The wedding pics themselves are still on my camera. Whoopsy.) Yep, my little sister, Arielle, got married - and in a fabulous beach wedding, no less. It was really beautiful, and as you can see from my pic at the rehearsal, I had a good time. I got to see a lot of family I haven't seen in several years, as well as some old family friends. My parents rented a fabulous beach house with all the bells and whistles, so Joe and I got to have another little vacation as well. It was great. And as for my sister, well, she's now "all grown up." Sigh. I was the matron of honor, so at the ceremony I was standing right up next to the preacher. As soon as Dad walked her up to preacher, my eyes immediately filled with tears. Luckily, with bouquet hand-offs and focusing on not dropping Gene's ring, I was able to refocus and blink back the tears. It was good, though. Really good.

And I must give a shout out to my boy Joe. He was everybody's bitch at the wedding, and he did a wonderful job being so flexible. If someone was upset, he pacified them. If the photographer needed another memory card, he went out and bought it. If the best man needed located because the wedding planner went psycho during reception festivities, by God, Joe found him. He was amazing, and rarely do I get mushy, but it made me love him more. And shit, I was just grateful we both made it to the wedding. Doesn't always happen, ya know.

So anyway. Fast forward three weeks since the last post, and here I am. Moved across town into a new-to-us rental house and am surrounded by boxes. Joe is supposed to be on half days this week, but of course, it's 9:35 pm, and he's still not home. I should be unpacking, but it's a slow process - I've been working at it all evening. Pecking away - wiping out a cabinet here, unpacking a box there, washing crap, etc. Bah. At least with packing, you can get to a point in which you just start throwing shit into boxes. Unpacking, though, if you want your place to look decent, is tedious, grueling at best, and of course never ending. So here I sit. Not unpacking. Wondering when Joe will get home and how he is still at the range with it thundering and lightning outside.

Still, life is good, and I have much to be thankful for. With that, I'm going to end on a more serious note than usual, asking for your good thoughts/prayers/vibes for the Mehta family. My good friend Aalap lost his sister, his only sibling, last weekend to a car accident. Having lost a close family member myself suddenly to a car wreck, though albeit not a sibling, I know they are going through hell right now. Please think of them. They need it... Now go spend time with your own family and be truly thankful.

What a lovely post, Katie! :) I'm glad you had a great time at Arielle's wedding. :) And my mom did mention Aalap's sister - very sad.

It is good to be thankful and grateful for what we have. :)

Katie!!! I've missed reading about you girlie! Glad the move went well - it might be box city right now, but hey, at least you don't have the ghetto neighborhood anymore. (YAY!) Can't wait to see pics of Arielle's wedding! Love to hear the story about the crazy wedding planner - that sounds like a post of it's own. :D

So sad to hear about your friend's sister. ((sending good thoughts/prayers/vibes their way))
