A Blanket Apology

To any and everyone that has ever been, is currently, or might one day be offended by anything I have ever said or will say, with special attention to those with whom I am friends on Facebook, I am very sorry. Today I was faced with yet another conflict stemming from something said on Facebook. I didn't even think the other person was serious, yet they really wanted me to apologize. So I did. Immediately following, I called Ari for help, and I think I managed about five minutes of conversation before I had to hang up and cry. This all came on the heels of other, actually important stuff that already had me in tears. With that, it was pretty easy to slip into violent sobs - the kind where you're unable to catch your breath and you consider, though briefly, looking for that old inhaler you stashed somewhere under the bathroom sink. Instead, I caught my breath on my own and headed for the stereo, playing a mixture of Eric Clapton ("Bell Bottom Blues" and "Promises") on repeat, The Beatles ("Something"), and Elton John ("Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" in which I sang every word and then various other songs as I fell asleep). Luckily, Dexter was still slightly sedated and allowed me to sing to him, lay with him, and thus nap with him for the next hour and a half. I then woke up, ate a piece of chicken and two Kit Kat bars for dinner before watching How I Met Your Mother. Yeah, who gives a shit. I'm about 1.5 to 2 more conflicts away from responding to internal stimuli, making claims that there are cameras throughout my house watching me, destroying my own home and belongings and needing a Haldol IM with an Ativan chaser once the police take me to the ER.

But anyway. Dexter was sedated in order to have x-rays (for that limp), which were clear. Also, there's nothing wrong with his paw; the doc is thinking it's either a muscle issue or a ligament/tendon deal with the leg itself. The muscle thing heals faster, while the other stuff takes weeks. Please God let it be muscular. We have five days worth of anti-inflammatory meds and instructions from the doc for Benadryl PRN. At any rate, Dex has to take it easy for a while, which is perhaps a sign that I need to take advantage and put my final coat of paint on the dining room walls.

Probably.

Holy Cow Katie!!! Seriously, it's not you - it's them! I've never been offended by anything you've said or written. People who get offended take things too seriously anyway. Don't worry, okay!!

Paul & I were talking this weekend about you and how just awesome we both think you are. There are very few people speak their mind, don't hold back, and are honest about themselves as much as you, Katie, and that's what we love about you. Keep it comin' girl!! :)
