Too Much Time Alone?

He was so happy just yesterday...in this video. But now the poor pup is limping. Kinda bad it seems. I'm not sure what happened. We took a walk tonight, came home, ate, and then all the sudden he's holding one of his back paws up. I can't find anything in his paw. I'm hoping he just stepped on a pine cone or something and that it's sore. Please, no sprain. Gah. This dog has had more issues than ever before in Joe's absence (though thankfully nothing too serious - just annoying). He hurt a front paw a couple weeks ago and limped because of that. Prior to that, he ate a whole rawhide in one sitting, and his stomach started making explosive noises as he refused to eat (perhaps I blogged about that?)and thus was vetted. Then just last week, our neighbor's dog bit through his ear, which has now scabbed back together and is healing after much neosporin. Also, he has thrown up multiple times in the past few months, and just this morning I found where he'd pissed all over my painter's plastic in the dining room after being accident free for nearly a year. WHAT THE HELL?! I think it was defiance. He's so pitiful now with the limp, though, that I can't be mad. Hell, I even gave him an empty bowl from the corn at dinner to lick, and I NEVER give him any scraps or plates to lick.

Other than that, it's been a decent working weekend. Yesterday was pretty steady, but I felt good about things and got a lot done. Today was not as good, and at the end of the day, as is my norm, I was ready to sprint from the building. I don't know if the doctor knows I'm off at 4:00 on the weekends, but it was 4:30 (yesterday I stayed until 5ish), so I freaking jetted out of there without telling her I was leaving. Ah, can't wait until tomorrow.

I've been productive at home in the evenings. Laundry is done (minus bedding). I have filed and shredded papers. I cooked tonight and cleaned chicken breasts for future meals, and then gave the kitchen a much-needed cleaning. It's been good. Also, today after a reminder from my cousin, I looked up the rewards on our USAA credit card and found where we've earned $100 cash back so far (or various other gifts in lieu of cash). Holy crap!! YES. I was pumped. I think I'm going to route some of our bills through the credit card (since they'll be budgeted for monthly payments and be cleared from the balance immediately), so we can earn even more points. BOOYA.

Couple final things: Joey Walnuts, the man himself, is now a blog follower. Welcome, baby, and what a pleasant surprise. Second, here is a video from earlier tonight. Too much time alone, indeed.
