Selling a car is stressful. I've never done it before. When I was in college, dad sold my old Nissan 240, and I've had the Maxima ever since (almost 7 years now, and she is now 14). I guess that's a testament to how long cars (imports - sorry, America) can last, but it leaves you unknowing in the selling process. The CRV officially went up for sale on New Year's eve. We've gotten a couple calls about it, and met with a guy (in a safe neutral location) so he could test drive it. He was pretty legit, so we let him drive it without us. (We were sitting in the parking lot with his car/tag number, and Joe is Joe and could get even if he messed with us.) After like 25 minutes, he finally showed back up and told us he likes it but that there's something wrong with the front end. When he said it he had this smug know-it-all look on his face, so I asked him what the hell exactly is wrong with it. He couldn't really say. Something like it got louder the longer he drove. Um. Okay. I have no idea what he's talking about, and our mechanic has checked it out and driven it - said it's fine. Also, it is still a fourteen year old car. Get over yourself. Your early 1990's BMW doesn't even have a bumper. There's your front end problem. Douche.
After that, we got a call from "Russel" in Jasper, Georgia. Sweet lord. He actually wants to drive the three hours to CoGa this weekend and check it out. However, he asked if we'd knock some off if he paid in cash. Uh, it's not like we'd be accepting payments anyway, and if he means CASH-cash, then no, man, I don't want $4000 in cash. I want a CASHier's check, and Joe told him so. Anyway. Whatever happens, I hope we can get a legitimate sale soon. I want the car gone so I don't have to deal with it alone when Joe leaves again, which is always just around the corner.
Speaking of Joe, he has his mock board interview tomorrow before the real deal on Thursday. I just can't picture him being told at the end of the interview that he's not being recommended for promotion. Ya know? "Oh, well, you're educated, been in the Army 3+ years, done eight thousand trainings including RGR School, plus deployment, never been in trouble, and in general you don't appear to be a shit bag? Nah, you stay at E-4. Happy trails, bitch." Yeah, I just can't fathom it. He's been studying his you-know-whats off for it too. I've been quizzing him off and on and ran through his biography with him. He'll be fine. Either way, we're eating out at Pho Vy that night - celebrating or commiserating.

Good luck to Joe! And to you - for selling your car! xoxox
He better get promoted! He's been through hell to get where he's at. Good luck with selling your car. We tried to sell Ryan's Jeep before he deployed and we had a few losers try to scam us. Assholes.
