What Happened? Where Am I?

I had to take a little bloggy break and handle some business.  It took me a few days to recover from my adventures in babysitting last week.  Joe and I went to Atlanta on Friday to watch the Flyers play the Thrashers, and it was a blast - the recovery I needed from everything!  He also took me out to a fancy Brazilian steak house while we were up there, which entailed a bunch of gauchos bringing a variety of grilled meats right to your table.  It was a fun experience with delicious food, and of course it was nice of him to do some planning since it's a rarity.  He's getting better, though.

Since Atlanta it's been a whirlwind.  Joe has again departed for a little while and thoughtfully he ordered me flowers in his absence which I got yesterday!!  Yay.  He IS a good boy, and I miss him.  I'll miss him more after I clean up all the messes he left me amidst packing.  Along with cleaning, I'm planning some trips to keep me busy over the next several months.  I'm already booked to go up to PA next month and visit the fam, along with babysitting my grandma and cousin so my aunt and uncle can leave town.  I'm also locked in for Boston and contemplating a Chicago trip as well.  Hmmm.  I guess I could also pack up the dogs and head to Mississippi.  We'll see about that.  The great white Burt may be a deterrent.  It's a shame that I do more traveling and visiting when Joe is gone than with him, but I'm damn happy to have plans.  This is the first time he's gone for a while that I'm not working, and I'm kind of nervous I'll go nuts or something.  Meh.

Slowly, all the leftover laundry is getting done and all the miscellaneous stuff is being put away including unpacking for our little trip.  Yesterday, I finally bathed both dogs (I do wipe them down with water/apple cider vinegar regularly), which of course will do wonders to keep my house clean.  Luckily for Lulu I can still lift her up to put her in the tub.  Dexter, not so much.  Locked in the bathroom together, we were like two wrestlers that couldn't get a lock on each other - just ran around in a circle.  Finally, when I feared I'd hurt my back if I really did lift him, or that he'd bite me out of fear, I gave him a bath outside instead.  It was at least near 60, and I washed him in a sunny spot.  He's so hardcore that I don't think I saw him shiver at all.

Today I need to hit the commissary.  Gotta plan some healthy meals for one.  I'm determined to 1) start eating well again since we'd started just eating whatever as we prepared for the send off and 2) actually cook for myself, even though it's just for me.  Okay, time to get organized.

Cooking for 1 sucks. Thank God for freezers! I tried the vinegar/water thing and loved it! Max smelt like Easter eggs for a few hours then the stink went away. I'm glad you are planning trips and things to do solo. I'm a loser and guilt myself out of doing things when Ryan is gone. It's a goal to get past that.
