A Little Bedtime Post

Dear God, let me sleep tonight.  The past two nights I have been awake quite a bit when I should have been sleeping.  Sometimes pregnant Katie just can't sleep, and that's usually because I have to pee every couple hours throughout the night, so I guess it's more getting BACK to sleep that I have trouble with.  But then other times, like last night, Joey Walnuts, rolls over on his back and starts snoring, or randomly sneezes (loudly), or coughs this hacking dry cough.  Then, there's the constant loud hum of the air conditioner.  It doesn't quite catch up until some point in the middle of the night, and I think the hum is starting to become to me what ticking clocks are to Captain Hook.  Makes me want to go a little insane.  Of course there's also the obvious with the air conditioner's inabilities in that it gets a little warm in here, which again, wakes me up.  Last, when all else is going smoothly, I get a lick on my hand from Lu who once every blue moon has to go potty in the middle of the night.  That happened last night...right after I finally fell back asleep.  I was ill about it.

So tonight, with my Centering Group (doc/midwife appt) from 9-11 in the AM, followed by a trip to the pool with the girls, I need to get some flipping sleep.  And Joey Damn Walnuts needs to roll over and sleep on his stomach.  I lonnnnng to sleep on my stomach; it's my favorite.  Non-pregnant Joe has the ability to, but never does.  The bastard.  Not to mention he was laying in the middle of this king bed just moments ago, with me hunched on my side.  Had to scoot him.

With that, I have coated my legs and arm pits in my usual baby powder bath (preceded by an actual shower), cetaphil on my face, vaseline on my lips, and mouthguard on my lower teeth.  It's time to stuff the spare pillow between my legs and roll over to the left.  LIGHTS OUT!
